The government has thus been organising a free campaign. Indeed, nothing is required from livestock farmers. Their sole duty is to answer to the call of the saving shot with all their animals. Livestock farmers were earlier informed through members of the awareness team.
The operation has brought together over 900 staff members of MINEPIA across 730 zoo-technical and veterinary centres. This was done in a bid to cover the entire country. The representatives of livestock farmers willingly accepted to involve themselves in campaign’s activities, especially those from village committees on “peste des petits ruminants”. They are made up of heads of each village (over 8000) and community relays. MINEPIA via PRODEL raised a contribution estimated at slightly over 2.5 CFA billion.
