Pastoral Households Praised the Outcomes of the Maiden Campaign

The launching ceremony turned into praise singing for the 2019 vaccination campaign. ‘’Peste des Petits Ruminants’’ did spare herds. Animals had no side effect. Families were happy with the door-to-door campaign. Even the Lord Mayor of Mindif was satisfied : ‘’We welcome the initiative, thanks to this vaccination campaign, all the small ruminants in the sub-division will be spared from the sickness. The sub-division of Mindif has turned livestock farming into an income-generating activity. This is a timely gesture, and breeders are on the safe side”

According to Zakariou Atikou, breeder from Djappai village: “The vaccination is conducted at the right time to save the sector of small ruminants in the sub-division of Mindif. We thank the Head of State Paul Biya who sent Dr Taïga to launch the vaccination campaign of small ruminants against ‘peste des petits ruminants”.

The Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr Taiga, seized the opportunity to urge farmers show up in their numbers to the vaccination campaign. According to the Minister:“This campaign will spread throughout the Far-North region. I have instructed Minepia teams based in regional delegations to go to the field, door after door, village after village, house after house, until the end of this vaccination campaign. The Head of State Paul Biya wants everyone to participate in the construction of Cameroon. This is why even vulnerable people are not left out. That is why we donated 100 small ruminants to increase their sources of income. ”
